60% say Obama inherited the current economic conditions
Another set of numbers from our new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll: 60 percent say President Obama inherited the current economic conditions, compared with 26 percent who blame his policies for the state of the economy.
~Do they think the economy was booming when Obama came into office? Disastrous Bush/Republican economic policies will still be affecting us 20 years from now.

It looks like the American people are giving the Pres some slack, as they should.. he inherited a mess... Also I think times have changed in the modern era.. it seems as long as people personally like the man.. they vote for him , unless something egregious is done... although i strongly disagreed with W and his policies and thought the economy wasnt great shakes. he was re-elected ....people liked him....as it looks like , hopefully Pres O will be.. so the "conventional" wisdom, of the "its the economy" looks like it is being turned on it's head.. I do remember pundits exclaiming in 04 that Bush would not get re-elected as well.. I really think this modern era is different than the last few elections before around 04... (00 doesnt count cause no real incumbent).. Also.. people like the optimism of Pres O and while they might not agree with him on everything.. they like him personally and feel like they know where he stands... Romney is like a weathhervane... Sound familiar.. people also liked Reagan's optimism and while strongly disagreeing with him, also voted for him as well....... this is an interesting election... GOBAMA 2012!!!

Also.. I think i have mentioned this before.. but in some ways.. Obama is like the Dem's version of Reagan,, I don't think it will be 1984 blow-out but I think he will win.. I think the country will become a little more centered as well and the Tea-Party will lose some influenece while (hopefully) moving the GOP back towards the center of Eisenhower/and or Reagan and away from the extrenist right wing. While some of the Progessive far-left will also move more towards the center with the Tea-Party fading away ...or some in the tea-party moving towards old-GOP style centrism. I can hope so anyway!
I'm afraid you folks are saying what the Dems (Pres Obama in particular) should be saying on message in this campaign may be a bit premature. Don't forget, there's still a little more than 4 months to go before the election; give it time; the big guns WILL come out as we get closer to November, I promise you.
Can't wait to see the SCOTUS ruling on the ACA! I'm on needles and needles!
