For Suzi

By HopeForOurFuture - Posted on 03 May 2009

I was reading our sunday paper today and I knew about this as I drove by it when I was running errands yesterday. I did not know what the purpose at the time was, but I thought of you when I read it. It's about a crawfish festival that was held here in Syracuse.

Are you here today Suzi?

I just got here Hope.  Thanks so much for sharing this.  It warms my heart and brings tears to my eyes to see that people far from my part of the country understand how far NOLA has to go, and still care enough to help.  To raise money for that effort in such a typical Louisiana style was a great idea. ;-)

You know, if not for the effort of churches and groups from across the nation, I hate to think where the people of New Orleans would be today.  Individual efforts have been "boots on the ground", in addition to monetary contributions.  For the poor with no insurance, and the bungling of government aid, it has been a life saver.  I am grateful to each and every person that has helped in any way.

The Crawfish Fesitval in Breaux Bridge was also held this weekend.  Talk about a place to "pass a good time". ;-)   I hope the people in Syracuse had as much fun.  You should go by if you have time.

Hey Suzi!! How are you doing? Long time, no talk =). I almost forgot to ask you: have you contacted your Senators (Landrieu and well maybe not Vitter) and your Representative about supporting the public option in Obama's healthcare plan yet?  When you do make sure you tell them you're a Republican that supports the public option, this way they know that support for this extends beyond Democrats and that (at least some) Republicans are smart enough not to be scared by the typical "Communist," "Socialist" labels =).
