Amazing performance of US national anthem
Heh, I got this in an email, and while the details were a little muddled I thought that it was beautiful and amazing performance of the national anthem:
I guess these girls are junior high school students from 6th through 8th grades. Wow. Well done!

WOW!
I'm not the biggest fan of The Star-Spangled Banner as our National Anthem. Personally, I've always thought that America the Beautiful and My Country, 'Tis of Thee are much better songs that are more worthy to be our national anthem. However, these young ladies made the anthem sound absolutely beautiful.
Well Done, Ladies!
Heh -- fair enough, but maybe it says something about our country where our National Anthem is about blowing stuff up set to the tune of an old English drinking song and is in a weird key with difficult to hit notes.
To be fair, I watch junior hockey, so I'm also a bit familiar with the Canadian National Anthem.
Unfortunately I couldn't find one sung quite to the same caliber (although I'm sure they're out there).
"Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so." -- Douglas Adams
Chance> I've always thought that America the Beautiful
Me too, I have always said that.
I like "this land is your land" also.
We would've had to bear some additional scorn from the Brits-- the original song being their national anthem, God Save the King/Queen. Since we turned their song Yankee Doodle into a song of defiance, it would be only appropriate (IMO) that we take one of their drinking songs and completely overshadow its original intent.
----It's sad that we've reached a point where 'government service' is a dirty word... If we're the greatest country on earth, maybe we can have the greatest government.

Wow. Just wow.
