Happy Labor Day Weekend!

By Chance - Posted on 04 September 2009

Have a great Labor Day all!
I'm off to the northern part of Arkansas (south of Branson, Missouri) to visit family.  *cue dueling banjos*

I plan to do absolutely nothing (except reading and possibly boating) for two whole days and I'll be back late on Tuesday.
Have Fun and enjoy the holiday!

Happy labor day, here you go, Chance,. I Couldn't resist.

Bwah!  You're the best, Hope!

Have a great time Chance!!  That's a beautiful part of the country!

Thanks, Suzi!

I got back at 4:30 this afternoon.

You are so right about it being a beautiful part of the country.  I'd never been to this part of Arkansas before, so I really had no idea how forested and rocky the hills of the Southern Ozarks are.

I took a bunch of pictures of the dam site and lake that we visited near Mountain Home, Arkansas.  I'll have to share them later on.  The Army Corps of Engineers did some really impressive work in the early 1950's that brought a lot of jobs, power, and recreational opportunities to Northern Arkansas.  I thought it was very cool how they blasted away tons of rock to put roads and major highways through the whole area.

Sadly, I saw a bunch of McCain/Palin signs while I was down there.  Many of them had McCain's name crossed out and Palin's name circled.  That really pissed my Aunt and Uncle off.  They don't like people who vote against their own best interests.

Did you go to Eureka Springs?  The way they blast out for houses it amazing too.  There is one house that looks a small one story from the front, but from the road behind it, it is 5 stories...built into a site blasted out of the side of the rock.

If you didn't see it this time, you also need to see the Passion Play when you get back to that area.

I think I'd like your aunt and uncle...I hate stupidity too. ;-)
