A House of Fools
Rasmussen Reports, a commentary by Joe Conason, "Dysfunctional" Too Polite to Describe Tea Party Congress
No, dysfunctional is the too-polite term for the House of Representatives, specifically its dominant tea party Republicans, who can be described in far less dainty psychological terms. Even the most extreme Republican partisans in the Senate seem to realize that their House colleagues, seized by some combination of ideology, madness and pig ignorance, are propelling the country and the world toward economic chaos.

There is no need to look too far to find the source of our discontent -- our "dysfunction," if you must. It is in the Congress, which the American people mistakenly turned over to fakers and fools last November. Every poll shows that most voters regret that error now, and wish that Congress would tax the wealthy and preserve social insurance. Now those voter had better make their remorse heard, and loudly, if they hope to avert catastrophe.

ABC News: No debt deal - House Speaker Boehner misses 4 pm deadline. Asian markets? They are on their own.
In fact, the source says a deal today is now looking unlikely.

Wow Misty the revolt from Boehner is unnerving! I wonder does he thinks the rest of his colleagues will follow suit? it is so frustrating to see the President attempt to establish a rapport with Boehner and the other Republican party members but Only to be slapped in the face during a critical time like this! The only thing that will satisfy the far right is for President Obama to give up his position ------ The Right wing conservatives would celebrate like never before if President Obama stepped down from his Presidency! -- There is nothing he can do to satisfy, negotiate, compromise or collaborate with them. I pray that the American people's eyes are open during this election period and realize what is at stake here and become very aggressive and enaged in this election process. The far right conservatives are utilizing every amunition they can to overthrow or manipulate the perception of this Presidency!
To everything there is a season:
A time for partisanship, and a time for statesmanship.
Partisanship is easy and common. Statesmanship is hard and uncommon.
Statesmanship means doing the right thing for the people, even if it costs you an election.
President Obama is a STATESMAN!
John Boehner....It is now your turn.
I am glad I am not the only one who think Boehner threw the president under a bus. From all I've heard it was Boehner's idea to "go big" and now he's running away from it. I am glad Obama is holding his ground. I hope he continues to do so. We'll see.

And so do I.
